02. 06. 2011 Atlanta (USA)

Landing in the U.S. for the first time I had a strange effect ... nice!

Atlanta, the capital of the petty state of Georgia, a place from which came all the Americans who worked with me in Kabul ...
I was very impressed when, immediately after landing, the stewardess, in giving us the welcome in Georgia, he said that we had flown with two VIPs on board, two Air Force guys, guys like us, and thanking them on behalf of all the service that the military is paying for the nation.
How far are we!
Only a little later we were already in the rocky desert "Arches National Park."

We have come a long way (Devils Garden Trail) to its tip (Landscape Arch).
And 'superfluous and will be for the entire trip describe or recount all the wonderful views and enjoy the various visits, all the various expressions of Mother Nature!

Balanced Rock, a huge rock on the edge, reminded us all of the legendary cartoon characters Wile Coyote and his faithful "enemy" Beep-Beep.

We leave. Destination: Moab.
This small town, once famous for the rich deposits of uranium, now plays the minor role of "caravan" for the many visitors to the parks in the area.

We sleep in "Gramma House", an entire classic American home with a lot of yards, BBQ and post boxes of film.

04. 06. 2011 Bluff (USA)

After a brief breakfast in a typical American distributor of fuel reach the "Dead Horse Point", made famous by the end of the film "Thelma & Louise" or "Mission Impossible II."

Large open spaces interspersed with desert rocks, long tongues of asphalt die towards the infinite ...

The spectacular "Monument Valley" has suddenly thrown into the set of a film by Sergio Leone. My traveling companions were beginning to turn to as they walked into the valley, John Wayne or Butch Cassidy, the cars seemed indomitable horses and often happened to encounter true Navajo Indian.
These represent one of the last tribes that still exist even if a little 'what happens to Maori in New Zealand, are placed at the margins of society.
Too bad!
They should absolutely protect these people with their ancient and old traditions, customs and languages.

Monument Valley is amazing.
If you saw some western movies will seem to know a life!
Spellbound when I let my imagination run wild, Indian tribes began to suddenly materialize in front of a campfire, and to my astonished eyes ...
I saw wild horses run free, whole herds controlled by the classic cowboy hat and a gun in hand ... ready huts redskins, arrows, guns, wagons, saloons, red earth ...

The evening ends in the small town of Mexican Hat, taste the meat at Swinging T-Bone Steak.
